Summer seems to have come and gone in a blink of an eye. We took advantage of those warm sunny days with waking up with sunrays filtering through our windows at early morning hours, playing with the grass tickling our ankles as we looked for ladybugs and chased butterflies, visited friends at the lake, and built sandcastles and played in the waves. I cannot believe fall is here already, and our Canadian Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. Here in Canada we celebrate our Thanksgiving in early October, so it’s quite a bit before our American neighbors who have their festivities the last weekend in November. Aside from the difference in dates, some of our customs are pretty similar. We come together with family and friends to share in togetherness and family traditions.
One thing my family loves to do is spend time outdoors. We are lucky our holiday is in early October and the weather is still pretty mild. I am able to bring my littles outdoors for some fresh air and (usually) sunshine. For those of you who know my little Annabelle, you know how much she loves bugs, little worm friends, animals and nature in general. I created this scavenger hunt for her and thought it would be great to share.
As you can see Annabelle was very engaged (and happily dirty)!
Colin was pretty into it too!
Scavenger hunts are a great way to get kids outside to get some fresh air while doing something engaging, educational, and fun. I think that this scavenger hunt was a huge success for my little ones. I hope that you and your family will enjoy it too! I'm already brainstorming of other ways to include scavenger hunts into our outdoor fun. If you have any ideas, please share them below.
By the way, we have some adorable Halloween cupcake toppers and Thanksgiving pie/cake toppers in the shop.
Happy fall friends!
