Kate Spade Inspired Wedding

It's no secret I absolutely love when my customers share photos of their special events with me. When I am designing and filling the orders, of course I don't always know the vision for how my cake toppers might be used on the big day. Imagine my excitement when I opened my email from my beautiful customer Amanda who shared all the details of her Kate-Spade Inspired Wedding day with me!

Kate Spade is synonymous with sophistication, bold design, and an element of playfulness.   Amanda said she knew she wanted this iconic style for her wedding, and used the design element of the infamous stripes and applied a modern chic touch to them. I think she did this beautifully!

The Bride

Amanda prepared for the big day with her mother, sister, and all of her bridesmaids at her side. The hotel provided a suite where the bridal party was able to dress and have their hair styled by Vanessa Sims of Brea, California while makeup was applied by Tim Liu of Orange County, California.

Mother and daughter wedding photo

Amanda's glamorous wedding dress by Allure Couture of tulle and beaded embroidery creates a beautiful silhouette of layers of ruffles for a delicate and airy train. This picture fondly reminded me of my own wedding day when my mom couldn't see the buttons so my sister had to step in and help do my dress up! It made for a pretty picture and a beautiful memory. Amanda completed her look with these beautiful Nardi oval drop earrings found at Bloomingdales, and her veil was purchased from Mary Me Bridal in Orange, California.

Orchids, hydrangeas for bridal bouquet

Her bridal party wore simple navy sleeveless dresses and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, white roses, and white Phalaenopsis orchids.

The Reception

The reception venue was elegantly decorated with navy, white, and gold and captured the sophisticated spirit which so perfectly embodies the Kate Spade spirit. I loved the navy and white striped runner on the tables, perfectly accented with the gold charger plates.  The floral centerpieces were raised allowing for easy conversation among the guests.

And I love personal touches at weddings, after all thats what its all about!

Personal touches at wedding

Each place setting held a favor inside a personal navy gift box adorned with a glittered golden ribbon, containing golden chocolates inside. I bet they were delicious too!

During the dinner service, Amanda and Christopher had a very romantic candle lit affair. She described it cast a super romantic amber glow within the room. Once the dancing started, the lighting, which was designed by Visions Entertainment of Brea, California, changed to fun colors to coordinate with the music and really added a playful element to the evening!
