Top Ten Handmade Stocking Stuffers

Don't you just love seeing your children's eyes light up on Christmas morning? Playing Santa Claus at Christmas time is so much fun and sometimes a bit bewildering. The big presents are usually easy to come up with (thanks to those letters to Santa), but coming up with those stocking stuffers can be a bit more challenging. Finding the perfect combination of unique, inexpensive, meaningful, small, and fun can be a bit daunting but also so much fun. This year I decided to gather up a few amazing handmade stocking stuffers to help all of you mamas (and papas) out there!

Personalized Tic Tac Toe

The Gift Reserve

Angela of Gobles, Michigan

In our family we have started a beautiful tradition of family game night.  Even though our children are still quite young, my daughter is able to play Tic Tac Toe with us and the memories she is building of our together time will last her forever.  This set is made on beautiful wooden discs and comes in a personalized cotton storage bag. I think this would be a wonderful travel set as well to take along when visiting family and friends for the holidays.

Coal Soap Stocking Stuffer for Kids

Sneedsboro Soap Company

Amberlea of Morvern, North Carolina

While I couldn't imaging gifting my littles a lump of coal (even though they have their moments!), I thought this would be a perfect tongue in cheek gift for hubby. This gift of "lump of coal" facial soap complete with a burlap gift bag and gift tag is absolutely adorable for doing just that! This cold process soap is made with real activated charcoal, scented with tea tree essential oil, and it is a wonderful detoxifing soap.

Scratch Off Stocking Stuffer

Sugar Crush Co

Quinn (thats me!) based in Ontario, Canada

While I may be a little biased, I think this is a perfect stocking stuffer idea. These scratch off cards present the opportunity to help your child create memories with you throughout the year with activies such as outings to the zoo or a local farm, craft days, making a sundae bar or opening a gift, and many more. The scratch cards as well as the legend key are printed on high quality cardstock and enclosed in a keepsake velvet bag personalized with your child's name in gold glittered vinyl.

Snowman Popsicle Bath Bomb

Fizzy Fizzy

 Stephanie of Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Nothing beats a warm, relaxing bath after a day filled with holiday fun whether you've been busy shopping, wrapping gifts, baking, or playing in the snow. This snowman popsicle bath bomb from Fizzy Fizzy melted my heart so to speak with the adorable design, and when I read it had a hot cocoa scent I knew this had to be added to my wish list. What a perfect addition to stockings for your littles! (And you might want to get an extra one to tuck into your own stocking!)

Felt Ball Sling Shot

Peaberry Studio

Sarah of Fillmore, Califormia

Living up in Canada, I know all too well about the long winter months when it's too cold for my children to play outside.  As creative as I try to be, sometimes I run out of fresh ideas to keep them entertained. When I saw Peaberry Studio's Felt Ball Sling Shot, it brought back memories of childhood, but with a safe and colorful twist.  All of the sling shots are hand-crafted and carefully painted and sealed.  With ten different colors to choose from, you are sure to find your little one's favorite and be sure to have enough for different teams to play those indoor games. Each one comes with ten color coordinated felt balls of "ammo" and a muslin bag for storage.  It's also packaged up beautifully in a clear pillow box, ready for gifting!

Alphabet Busy Bag

Clover and Birch

Taylor in Symrna, Georgia

As a trained teacher, I naturally love any toys that incorporate fun into learning. This handcrafted alphabet busy bag grows with your babies through their toddler years and into school age. From early development of letter recognition into word patterns and sight words, this can support a range of learning instruction from homeschooling to Montessori, Waldorf, or Reggio learning curriculums. I also love how intentionally this product was designed from the perfect sizing of the wooden discs for little hands, the use of non-toxic inks, sealing with coconut oil, and the inclusion of an organic drawstring bag for storage.

Solid Wood Phonetic Reading Spinners

MDH Toys

Miriam in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Another learning tool disguised as a toy, this set of six solid wooden spinners is great for emerging school age children as they begin to learn CVC word patterns.  There are 80 posible word combinations between standard Canadian and American dictionaries. Children will not realize they are learning because they will be so engaged in the hands-on tactile fun of the spinning letters and the engaging colors, but you will see their confidence soar as they begin to learn new words each day.

These hats are too cute to pass up. Hip and trendy, this cool buffalo check slouchy hat is fully lined for extra warmth. A plus is that it is available in both children and adult sizes. Liz has several fun prints to choose from in her shop (she even has a pierogi hat!). Make sure to check them out!

Personalized Wooden Unicorn Bookmark

Cellar Co

Kelly from Park Rapids, Minnesota

I love the tradition of giving books to my children, Annabelle and Colin, and I think including a personalized bookmark as a stocking stuffer is such a unique idea! Kelly has created these beautiful laser engraved bookmarks made out of birchwood.  She even suggests using them as ornaments around the holiday season or as bag tags when they are not holding a page of their favourite book.  I love those ideas!

Llama Pillow

Sir Winslow's Zoo

Bethany and Meg of Otley, Iowa

While maybe this doen't qualify as a stocking stuffer per se, I could not resist adding this one to my list! This sweetie is the beautifully embellished with a colorful blanket for her back and a flower by her ear (which can be customized to your child's favorite colors or to coordinate with her decor). Meg and Bethany have carefully taken the time to choose different textures of fabric for their animals which make them extra touchable, and then stuffed them to be the perfect size for hugging or as a reading buddy.  There are many other animal choices and custom options are availabe as well.

I hope you loved checking out all of these AMAZING items from some pretty awesome handmade sellers. Happy shopping!
